6.8.3.9: Manage Personal Traffic Rules

This process shall request and receive traffic rule or regulation information from Manage Traffic Rules, Manage Emergency Services, or Manage Maintenance and Construction. Upon receipt of new traffic rules this process shall perform completeness and consistency checks to ensure each rule is fully defined and to identify any conflicts or discrepancies among the received rules. It combines the currently relevant rules with supporting data (e.g., from location or from exchanges with other devices) to develop a complete picture of the rules that are currently active. This process presents the valid rules to the driver. If discrepancies are detected, a discrepancy report is logged and transmitted. The validated rules are then sent to the Update Traveler Navigable Map Database function to support guidance functions.
