2.8.6.2: Manage Port Ground Transportation

This process shall manages reservations for ground transportation of cargo typically, into, out of, or within a port facility. This process shall manage the information needed to identify the location of pickup and delivery. Upon receipt of information concerning available loads to be picked up and shipped by Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs), via their Intermodal Customer Systems, this process shall make the information available to the appropriate and authorized parties, including terminal operators, trucking fleet operators, and rail operators. This process shall receive requests for access to and services of an intermodal terminal. This process shall then provide that reservation request to the appropriate intermodal terminal. This process shall support reservation creation, modification, cancellation, confirmation, and status tracking. This process shall maintain interfaces with ground transport management centers, terminals, and Beneficiary Cargo Owners to coordinate reservation lifecycle and ensure efficient cargo movement.
