2.8.6: Provide Maritime Port Information
This collection consists of a set of processes that combine to provide a maritime port operator with the tools to process incoming requests for service, provide visibility into the location and status of ocean vessels and cargo (containers and non-containerized cargo). This collection provides the information access for authorized users into the movement of the freight they have an interest in, such as the Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs) through their intemodal customer system (ICS). These processes also provide the interface between all the modes of transport into and out of a port, including the truck fleets and rail operators.
There are five processes defined as Process Specifications (PSpecs) in this collection:
1) Maintain and Share Port Information (2.8.6.1)
2) Manage Port Ground Transportation (2.8.6.2)
3) Manage Port Cargo Movements (2.8.6.3)
4) Track and Monitor Port Vessel Traffic (2.8.6.4)
5) Manage Port User Authorization (2.8.6.5)
