3.1.5: Manage Vehicle Fueling and Charging Systems
This process shall receive data from the Process Vehicle On-Board Data function that contain the status of the vehicle fuel supply by type. This process shall use the rate of fuel or charging usage against the capacity to determine the need for additional fuel or for a charge for the electrical supply. This process shall provide guidance messages to other functions to inform the driver as to the state of the charging/fueling system, including the rate of fuel consumption and the time or distance to empty or when the battery fails. Inputs from the driver shall be used to configure the charging/fueling systems and passed on to processes in the vehicle as necessary. This process shall transmit data about the charging profile (max current accepted, current voltage, percent of capacity) to functions located in the roadside that have information on locations of the nearest charging/fueling station.
